Job Summary

This a leadership position within HealthTrust Purchasing Group, the healthcare industry’s only nationally committed GPO. The Assistant Vice President, Food & Nutrition Board Lead orchestrates all aspects of HealthTrust’s Food & Nutrition Board (FANB) operations. This position is responsible for determining the annual schedule of board meetings, creating the meeting agenda and content, managing the board members and their engagement, facilitating meetings and driving food program compliance across all HealthTrust members. The FANB Lead works closely with the food program Strategic Sourcing team.

Duties (included but not limited to) –

  • Increasing Contract Compliance. This will include product selection, product specification and identification of product conversion opportunities in both the Food & Environmental disciplines.
  • Identify, advise and promote the development of new food solution offerings within the GPO and across the membership.
  • Development of the HPG Food & Nutrition Program. This will include participation in supporting all aspects of the Food Procurement Portfolio including Food Distribution, Food Manufacturer Agreements, and Procurement & Financial Data.
  • Operationalizing consulting opportunities under HealthTrust. This would include the identification of consulting opportunities with the Food & EVS channels including Patient Services, Food Production, Catering, RD Clinical Services, and Financial Offerings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the Food & EVS disciplines and general account management to the HPG Membership.
  • Execute core job competencies in both the Food & EVS disciplines including the assessment, development and implementation of operational improvements and expenses management solutions.
  • Assist in the development and growth of the AdvantageTrust membership. This will be accomplished thru measured participation of the HealthTrust Group Purchasing Agreements.
  • Strategically build alliances with executive leadership within all disciplines (acute & non-acute) as it relates to successfully executing the HPG contract portfolios.
  • Serve as the HealthTrust Food & Nutrition Board Lead. This includes determining the annual schedule of board meetings, creating the meeting agenda and content, managing the board members and their engagements, facilitating meetings and driving food program compliance.
  • The AVP Food & Nutrition Services must have an in-depth knowledge of the contracts, contracted suppliers, and compliant products in both the Food & EVS channels. The AVP Food & Nutrition Services has to demonstrate business acumen working with equity/senior staff members of the HealthTrust Membership.



Job Requirements

Education andExperience

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Position is located in Nashville, TN. May require travel up to 50%.

  • At least 10 years of food and EVS operations and management experience in the healthcare industry. Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to:

    • Management experience in the food service & EVS settings including revenue management, budgeting, project development and interdepartmental project participation.
    • Maintain appropriate licensure for RD & Clinical Specialty areas including infant nutritionals, pediatric specialty nutritionals & enteral nutrition.
