Job Summary-

The Director Clinical Competency Management is responsible for the collaborative development, management, delivery, and execution of HCA’s clinical competencies. This position will be facilitate work across clinical workgroups, interacting with various stakeholders to ensure all competencies are developed and implemented using HCA’s Clinical Education Service Line education standards. In this role you will:

  • Design and develop tools and processes for management of competencies that will facilitate the execution and alignment with nursing strategies and initiatives
  • Monitor the practices or operations with reference to laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices to assess compliance, risk, or exposure while communicating key performance indicators for clinical education service line.
  • Ensure that the work of the workgroups develop competency content that will meet the various accreditation standards which includes and is not limited to the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid and similar organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Division Vice President, Clinical Education to establish expectations for developing and implementing competencies and practices that create a patient-centered organization, driven by customer feedback and data.
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality content and programs that will improve clinical metrics.
  • Promote a consistent positive clinical education program that advances the agenda of unparalleled patient service.

This position may travel up to 25% of the time.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience-

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Education is required; if the graduate degree is not in nursing, the undergraduate degree must be in nursing
  • Doctorate’s degree in Nursing or Education is preferred
  • A current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) in which you practice, in accordance with law and regulation is required.
  • 5 years of experience in an acute care facility and 2 years of experience in education, organizational development or human resources in a hospital setting is required.
