Job Summary –  

  • Accountable for development of businessmetadata (Common Business Language) at HealthTrust
  • Responsible for managing enterprise-widedocumentation and deliverables for Information Governance
  • Assists in the planning and managementof initiatives within the HealthTrust IGP Service Framework

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance: Work with the Manager to drive and maintainthe IGP Goals and Service framework as laid out in IGP Charter.
  • Common Business Language (Glossary) Development:Work with business data stewards to develop and maintain definitions forbusiness terms. Reconcile gain consensus across IGP Stewardship committee forensuring consistent terminology and understanding across the enterprise. Reconcilingincludes ensuring duplicate terms and definitions are merged; maintainingincludes identifying gaps and suggesting new business terms and definitions aswell as ensuring standards for business naming and identifying single source oftruth is consistent. This will require understanding of business functions andprocesses.
  • Process Management: Establish/refine and maintain aCommon Business Language (CBL) intake and maintenance process. Utilize existingtools such as SharePoint and IBM Information Governance Catalog (IGC)centralize and standardize the business metadata. Ensure that CBL standards areclearly understood and effectively support the information strategy, includinganalytics and enterprise data warehouse.
  • Project Management & Planning: Work with IGPManager, business information stewards/owners, technology project teams andother stakeholders to incorporate IGP deliverables, quality principles,standards and processes in project life cycles.  Documentation: Drive requirements gathering toensure Critical Data Elements (CDEs) are identified, business informationrules, quality criteria and thresholds are established. Facilitate developmentof information quality scorecards and reports for monitoring quality issues. ManageIGP required documentation submitted by business information stewards andowners for projects as needed.
  • Communication: Develop and deliver through presentationsand other communications the value of Common Business Language (CBL) across thecompany. Train and mentor Stewards on process and tools for CBL. Delivermonthly reports to track CBL development progress based on completion andpublication measurements.  
  • Other Support – Work with technology teams (Product Owners, Data Analysts,Architects, Report developers) to assist in associating approved business termswith physical data elements to establish lineage, translate business qualityrules and policy specifications into executable quality rules for production ofdata quality reports etc. Work with business information stewards and owners toanalyze data profile results, baseline business quality metrics and establishreports and process in their area(s) as needed. 

Job Requirements

Collegedegree required
Strong relevant experience (business data management, stewardship, governance,etc.)
IBM Information Governance Catalog (IGC) and/or SharePoint skills or ability tolearn
Experience in relevant GPO operations and process areas is desirable
2-3 Years of Experience
