Job Summary – The Manager, Supply Expense Management is responsible for supporting and leading the Nursing Value Analysis program and process improvement of complex, large to small scale organizations within Nursing Services and related functions which include but not limited to Respiratory, Infection Prevention, and Wound Care. This position will serve as a subject matter expert for identifying process improvement and cost savings opportunities related to nursing services.
 
Duties (included but not limited to):
 
Leadership
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and assist in providing leadership in the area of nursing services operations and expense improvement that support the organization’s strategy.   • Demonstrates the ability to assist in developing and achieving established targets, e.g., SKU reduction, expense reduction, and improving operations within nursing services.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop, implement, and coordinate within the hospital or system processes, policies and procedures related to implementation of a nursing services improvement program or Value Analysis.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary project team in a variety of functional settings.
 
Customer Service
  • Demonstrates the ability to support teams in preparation of information/presentation and facilitating meetings between staff and physicians, and other appropriate parties in support of projects.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for solving customer challenges, ensures commitments to customers are met by soliciting opinions and ideas from customers for improvements in products and services.
  • Demonstrates effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and serves as a clinical liaison for nursing services and Value Analysis.
 
Solutions Development
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess, research and analyze applicable data from a variety of sources that may include clinical, financial, and operational, as well as evidenced based literature to assist teams in evaluation new supplies and technology and making a decision specifically in nursing and related areas.
  • Assimilates information from variety of sources, able to analyze data and make recommendation and executes a course of action.
  • Identifies supply and operational saving enhancement strategies for nursing services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and expertise within Nursing Services as it relates to operations, patient throughput, supply chain operations and expense management.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct interviews with a variety of stakeholders related to data analysis, data interpretation, and processes within Nursing Services.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving skills which includes understanding issues, able to simplify and process complex issues, understanding the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.
  • Demonstrates a track record of success with emphasis on successful execution of solutions.
 
Project Management
  • Demonstrates the ability to initiate and complete projects with measureable outcomes
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and participate in multiple projects and tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and update work plans and coordinate daily field work and project team activities.

Job Requirements

Education
Minimum requirement will include a Licensed Practical Nurse, or other acute care allied health certification. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or a graduate of a Professional School of Nursing strongly preferred.
 
Experience
5 years’ experience in an acute care hospital related role with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Previous experience in supply chain, value analysis, or clinical supply expense management, and nursing services. Software skills with data warehouse, MicroStrategies, and/or Tableau highly preferred.
