JOB SUMMARY – This position reports tothe Managing Counsel of HealthTrust Purchasing Group (“HealthTrust”). The position will be responsible for draftingagreements, legal review of agreements, negotiations with opposing parties on termsfor agreements, and consulting on issues related to agreements, primarily withsuppliers of products, equipment, services, and software used by HealthTrustmembers and HCA affiliates.

DUTIES (included but not limited to) –

  • Provide legalsupport for vendor contracts to be entered into between any supplier ofproducts, equipment, services, and/or computer software and HealthTrust foraccess by HealthTrust member institutions.
  • Provide legalsupport for vendor contracts to be entered into between any supplier ofproducts, equipment, services, and/or computer software and any HCA affiliatedentity, including HCA Supply Chain operations, HCA Divisions and Facilities,HCA corporate departments, and Parallon.
  • Provide legalsupport for membership agreements related to HealthTrust, CoreTrust, andAdvantage Trust GPO programs.
  • Provide legalsupport for pharmacy and med/surg agreements related to HealthTrust, CoreTrust,and HCA programs.
  • Draft agreementsand templates; coordinate with the internal business clients to ensure properlegal documents are used; review edits proposed by other contracting parties;negotiate with other parties to arrive at mutually acceptable language; andassist business clients in finalizing documents for signatures.
  • Provide legalguidance on contract interpretation and other legal issues related to grouppurchasing and healthcare supply chain operations.
  • Draft andnegotiate custom pricing agreements for specific HealthTrust members.
  • Provide legalguidance on compliance with various healthcare laws and regulations, especiallythe Anti-kickback laws and regulations, the Discount Safe Harbor, and the GPOSafe Harbor.
  • Accomplishspecial projects as assigned by the Managing Counsel and Chief Legal Officer.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’sDegree Required
  • JD Degreefrom accredited Law School
  • Contractingexperience required
  • Pharmacy experienceis helpful but not required
  • 10 years ofexperience
  • Member of theTN Bar, ability to be waived into the TN Bar, or willing to take the TN Barexam.
