Job Summary
The VP of Supply Chain Board and GPO Operations will have evidence of creative thinking and knowledge of the Healthcare Supply Chain, including its values, traditions, and body of knowledge. The ability to network and work with both members, and internal teams to achieve strategic objectives is essential to meeting expectations of this position. This person must demonstrate the ability to negotiate with individuals and groups, and to facilitate consensus building and commitment. Evidence of experience in strategic planning, and an understanding of the complexity of the health care supply chain are essential, along with the ability to think objectively and creatively about future possibilities.
Strategic Development 
  • Provides leadership in the planning, designing, and implementation of strategic business objectives related to GPO Operations.
  • Partners with leadership teams to Identify opportunities to enhance the tools and services provided to the SCB.
  • Assist in the development of quality improvement initiatives that organizationally contribute to long term operational excellence.
  • Partner and interface with all member facing teams to identify opportunities and/.or resolve issues related to the member experience.
  • Builds trust-based relationships with the Sourcing and Clinical teams to ensure initiatives align with sourcing goals.
  • Serves as key liaison and spokesperson for HealthTrust at internal and external events for Supplier Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and clinical teams regarding the identification of category expansion. 
  • Collaborates with AVP Clinical Operations to identify opportunities to galvanize relationships between clinical and supply chain boards.
  • Directs and continuously enhances a program to support member sustainability goals and objectives. 
  • Supports the enhancement and the development of the role of the clinical directors as clinical experts and resources to the membership
  • Collaborates with Sourcing, Financial, and clinical teams to ensure that all Supply Chain Board presentation information is informative, accurate, and timely.
  • Oversees the development of the monthly operational Dashboard, and confirms accuracy with AVP GPO  Operations and Finance.
  • Oversees the development and distributes the quarterly sourcing work plan.
  • Ensures contract package is continuously reviewed and enhanced to provide information essential to successful contract implementation.
  • Routinely communicates with Account Management team to provide SCB feedback, initiatives, requests, and concerns to ensure consistency in addressing effectively and efficiently customer related issues, and /or opportunities.
  • Manages the design, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives that impact operational excellence.
  • Prepares and manages departmental budgets.
  • Manages and updates the SCB Team Room.
  • Develops and executes a communication plan to ensure that all SCB members receive accurate and timely information regarding all Board – related activities.
  • Crafts and delivers communications that influence audiences and lead change management, both internally and externally.
  • Exhibits objectivity and values different perspectives.
  • Establishes relationships with Sourcing teams, providing guidance and feedback in response to customer and/or SCB related activities. 
  • Positively represents the company at all times through a success oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, external peers, and professional organizations.
  • Prepare for and preside over all Supply Chain Board activities. In conjunction with senior leadership identify and recruit other Board members, ensuring a commitment to a diverse board that reflects the HealthTrust membership.
  • Complete the Onboarding and orientation of all new board members, ensuring that all requirements are completed prior to participation.
  • Translates strategic vision into tactical plans and manages change required to execute.
  • Drives operational improvement initiatives that impact work quality and enhanced member experience.
  • Applies best practices in supplier relationship management and mentoring to support overall success.
  • Provide exceptional time management skills to include being mindful of meeting deadlines, responding timely to emails and phone messages.
  • Possesses the ability to work independently and deliver projects to completion.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise
  • Promote a positive environment for staff, identifying opportunities for enhancing a collaborative work environment, and work to address any issues that are creating barriers to an optimal work environment for all staff.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s preferred.
5-7 years of healthcare leadership experience in Supply Chain Operations, Supplier Relations and Customer Service. GPO experience preferred, Clinical experience a plus. Ideal candidate will have Healthcare Supply Chain Operations and Strategic Sourcing/Contracting experience.
