Job Summary
Responsiblefor developing, executing and implementing the Core GPO contracting effortsrelated to the entire national medical equipment and clinical IT portfolio.  This individual must develop and execute innovativeindustry leading cost-savings strategies that deliver significant and measureablefinancial and operational value to members through the medical equipment andclinical IT portfolio.  This individualmust not only enhance the value of the existing portfolio, but is alsoresponsible for expanding the portfolio to be the most comprehensive portfolioin the industry.
Thisindividual is required to direct and manage a team of contract negotiators anda portfolio specialist, as well as ensure collaboration with the entiresourcing functional team (financial analyst and clinical board operations).  In all aspects, this individual isresponsible for developing and leading the Core GPO Medical Equipment andClinical IT team members to ensure an effective, knowledgeable,customer-focused team environment that can be effectively measured withperformance-based metrics.  Establishesobjectives and develops/executes operational plans and strategies.  Ensures business functions can support andcontribute to Core GPO overall performance. Thisindividual will receive guidance from Senior and/or Executive Leaders.


KeyInteractions – HealthTrust Leadership, IDN Leadership, CEO’s, CFO’s, ClinicalDirectors/Physicians, CMO’s, Vendor Executives and Vendor National AccountRepresentatives.
 
Duties(included but not limited to):

  • Responsiblefor maintaining various aspects of the Medical Equipment and Clinical ITSourcing operations, specific to medical equipment, including financial andbudgetary considerations, revenue, customer relationships, leadershipcommunication.
  • Additionaloperational responsibilities include team integration, leadership and personneldevelopment, development of critical service line offerings including thedevelopment of an industry leading contract portfolio and efficient andscalable sourcing processes.
  • Takes a leadrole in the development and execution of Core GPO (Medical Equipment andClinical IT) business direction and strategic plan for achievement.
  • Takes anactive role in the development and execution of HealthTrust business directionand strategic plan for achievement.
  • Must gainconsensus from member boards and internal departments on contract strategiesand contract awards.
  • Leads allaspects of communications including both internal and external customers.  This responsibility refers to allcommunication resources within Core GPO (Medical Equipment and Clinical IT),processes, collateral and medium development, and interdepartmentalcoordination.
  • Must possesscapabilities to ensure strategic vision can become a viable, value-basedsolution that is executable.
  • Responsiblefor managing initiatives and teams in a dynamic, fast-paced work environmentthat demands strong capabilities to come in to projects and initiatives withoutmuch guidance and deliver them to completion.
  • Must exceedcontracting goals established in annual contracting work plan.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’sDegree Required
7-10 years of related healthcare or industryexperience
