Job Summary –This technically focused position with the Supply Chain Analytics team is responsiblefor the development, implementation, and expansion of business processes andperformance specific to HCA’s pharmacy procurement strategy.  By working with cross-functional businessteams and utilizing tools such as Teradata SQL, Microsoft Power Suite, andBusiness Objects, the BI Developer is responsible for application creation,administrative tasks, dashboard support, and report solution development.  With a focus on facility utilization andpharmacy operations, the BI Developer will collaborate with analysts anddevelopers to provide leadership regarding reporting and BI, as well as supportand develop subject matter knowledge within the pharmacy service line. The BIDeveloper will ensure the effective design, build, deployment, documentation,and maintenance of relational and multidimensional databases to supportend-user processes, learning the subject-matter necessary to develop andimplement requirements as they relate to pharmacy practices. 
 
Duties (includedbut not limited to):

  • Develop andsupport reporting solutions including: program modifications, performancetuning, problem solving, debugging, and unit testing.
  • Learn anddemonstrate proficiency in adopting existing internal report strategies and dashboarddevelopment methods.
  • Demonstratelearning proficiency by utilizing internal and external training opportunitiesto cross-train on business intelligence tools and database platforms such as: MicrosoftPower Suite, Teradata SQL, Business Objects, Microstrategy, QlikView, SQLReporting Services, etc…
  • Present datainformally and formally to effectively facilitate discussions regarding datavisualizations and reports.
  • Collaboratewith internal team members to integrate solutions where additional data andsubject-matter expertise is required.
  • Engage injoint-development with application development teams, assist user adoption,document, and communicate standards and procedures.
  • Thinkanalytically and critically to take ownership of reporting standardization andautomation efforts.
  • Continue togrow professionally to lead one or more of the activities listed above andprovide hands-on technical leadership for developing projects.
  • Work underguidance as well as under general supervision by a manager or team lead.
  • Provideguidance to the associate level.
  • Learn andabide by corporate data governance guidelines.


Job Requirements

Requires aBachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field.
1 years data/process/analysisexperience required.
Knowledge ofpharmacy activities and duties including drug terminology, classifications,purchasing, contracts, and nomenclature required.
Demonstrated knowledgeof SQL development experience with solid understanding of relational databasesystems, analytics, and BI tool architectures required.
Experience inBI reporting development and complex data blending preferred.
Experiencewith Teradata is desired.
Experience inan Agile BI Reporting development environment highly desirable.
