Responsible for providing leadership and consultative advisory solutions pertaining to service line specialty within HealthTrust’s Medical Device Management Team. The Clinical Director will collaborate with clients by developing strategies for value-based approaches related to their clinically sensitive implant service lines (Cardiovascular). This role will be responsible for the identification of actionable cost saving opportunities, analytic evaluation of clinical and cost informatics, development of strategic roadmaps, hospital leadership engagement, physician engagement and medical device market reporting for service line strategies.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership of Cardiovascular service line for the medical device advisory team
  • Presents progress of service line engagements at routine intervals to Assistant Vice President
  • Collaborate and assist Clinical Directors (service line leads) in developing strategic and tactical plans to maximize the effectiveness of the medical device advisory team
  • Participating as a presenter at professional meetings (possibly alongside HealthTrust Physician Advisors)
  • Engaging current Physician Advisors in projects (service line specific)
  • Clinical product categorization and cross-referencing (Cardiovascular specific)
  • Reviewing and recommending evidence-based, specialty-specific tools, such as Clinical Evidence Reviews, as well as white papers created by HealthTrust
  • Provides consultative and educational services (service line specific) for clients and internal HealthTrust departments
  • Promotes strong client relationship management to improve client satisfaction and support HealthTrust objectives
  • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
 
Duties (included but not limited to):
  • Retrieves, reviews, processes, and analyzes demographic, clinical and financial data provided by clients to identify unnecessary clinical and cost variation and solutions (service line specific)
  • Identifying new technology trends, understands service needs related to implants and instrumentation
  • Development of client facing presentations, reporting and strategic roadmaps
  • Assist Custom Contract Directors in performing clinical ad hoc analytics for potential and current clients
  • Assist Custom Contract Directors with clinical product categorization and cross-referencing
  • Assist Clinical Data Analysts in performing ad hoc analytics for potential and current clients
  • Assist Clinical Data Analysts to continuously improve dashboards and other customer facing tools
  • Participates in regular meeting with hospital and corporate leadership to discuss opportunities, strategic roadmaps and value delivery tracking
  • Ensuring data stewardship and consistent analytical methods are applied throughout the department
  • Prepares and presents final client assessments to respective client and leadership
  • Assist Clinical Data Analysts in organizing, documenting and testing requirements for clinical/cost analytics tool

Job Requirements

Education
Bachelor’s degree required; healthcare, finance or accounting is preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
 
Experience
8 years of healthcare experience, specifically related to medical device service line expertise. Strong understanding of supply chain, hospital and healthcare consumerism (value-based payment models, provider and physician challenges etc.) and in-depth Cardiovascular product and service line knowledge. Requires proficiency in multiple technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Office, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, and other dashboard/analytical tools.
 
Certificate/License
Clinician experience is preferred but not required.
