GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:   Responsible for working with theDivision Supply Chain Team to implement the strategic direction of Supply CostManagement within a facility. This position is responsible for reviewing andoptimizing the current GPO contract portfolio, developing and executing productstandardization with a facility in conjunction with the Division Supply ChainTeam. This position is responsible for building strategic alliances withHospital Executive staff with emphasis on the COO, CNO and Clinical DepartmentDirectors at it relates to successfully executing the Supply Chain OperationsPlan.
 
SUPERVISOR:  Division Clinical Resource Director
 
DUTIES (included but not limited to):
•        Develops and implements strategies andprocesses for reducing supply expense/adjusted admission.
•        Develops and implements productstandardization and utilization.
•        Monitors utilization and cost data andidentifies waste.
•        Develops and facilitates clinicalproduct committees to reduce the number of SKUs by standardization, increaseproduct quality, evaluate processes and introduce new products.
•        Actively interacts with the cliniciansperforming the departmental tasks to identify improvement opportunities anddevelop/implement continuous quality improvement process regarding supply/laborpractices and recommends cost reductions.
•        Actively participates and communicateswith Medical Staff and clinical staff to monitor, communicate, and makeimprovements to utilization profiling.
•        Actively participates, communicates andeducates all affected departments, physicians, and medical management personnelregarding product and procedure changes.
•        Maintains and communicates financialand performance measurements as gauge of standardization/utilization success.
•        Collaborate with physicians inidentifying and implementing improvements andstandardization.  Measures and continuously verifies processimprovements and cost savings.
•        Demonstrates knowledge of occurrencereporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues.
•        Practice and adhere to the “Code ofConduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”  Performother duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 


•        Demonstrated leadership skills.
•        Demonstrated organizational andcommunication skills.
•        Proficient in the use of spreadsheetand word-processing applications.
•        Functional working knowledge ofclinical and surgical supply and SKU maintenance processes.
•        Demonstrated quality improvement implementationskills with regard to clinical processes and SKU management.
•        Ability to communicate with physiciansand other clinical healthcare professionals
•        Understanding of utilization andproductivity in a variety of clinical settings.
 
EDUCATION:  An undergraduate degree required andMaster’s degree preferred.   
 
EXPERIENCE:  Nursing or healthcare experiencedirectly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in this jobdescription. 
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:  RN preferred.  At least 4-years clinicalmanagement level experience may substitute for a RN license.
 
DivisionClinical Resource Director
 
GENERALSUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Responsiblefor working with the Division Supply Chain Team to implement the strategicdirection of Supply Cost Management across multiple hospitals.  This position is responsible for reviewingand optimizing the current GPO contract portfolio, developing comprehensiveclinical and utilization protocols, developing and executing productstandardization plan for the entire Division. This position is also responsible for recruiting, directing, managingand evaluating the facility CRMs and coordinating activities of the FRCs withinthe facilities.  This position isresponsible for building strategic alliances with Hospital Executive Staff,primarily the COO and CNO and Clinical Department Directors as it relates tosuccessfully executing our Supply Chain Operations Plan.  
 
SUPERVISOR:    Division Supply Chain Officer 
 
SUPERVISES:     CRMs within the Division.
 
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
•         Develops and implements strategies and processes forreducing supply expense/Adjusted Admission within the Division.

EDUCATION:     A Baccalaureate required. MS degree preferred.  Additionalappropriate experience as Registered Nurse may be substituted for the educationrequirement
 
EXPERIENCE:     A minimum of five years healthcareexperience required.  .
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:  As appropriate.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Must be able to stand and walk for long periods oftime. Requires ability to push and pull a variety of carts and materialhandling equipment. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, and reach. Must beable to make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Must beable to hear, see, and communicate through written and verbal means. Requiresability to touch and differentiate textures and temperatures. Must be able toexert up to 75 pounds of force and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently,and/or 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is performed insidea warehouse environment that has good ventilation and comfortable temperatures.Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance forany/all disaster or emergency situations.
