Job Description

Responsiblefor working with the Division Supply Chain Team to implement the strategicdirection of Supply Cost Management within a facility. This position isresponsible for reviewing and optimizing the current GPO contract portfolio,developing and executing product standardization with a facility in conjunctionwith the Division Supply Chain Team. This position is responsible for buildingstrategic alliances with Hospital Executive staff with emphasis on the COO, CNOand Clinical Department Directors as it relates to successfully executing theSupply Chain Operations Plan.

 Supervisor – Division Clinical Resource Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities(included but not limited to):

  • Develops andimplements strategies and processes for reducing supply expense/adjustedadmission.
  • Develops andimplements product standardization and utilization.
  • Monitorsutilization and cost data and identifies waste.
  • Develops andfacilitates clinical product committees to reduce the number of SKUs bystandardization, increase product quality, evaluate processes and introduce newproducts.
  • Activelyinteracts with the clinicians performing the departmental tasks to identifyimprovement opportunities and develop/implement continuous quality improvementprocess regarding supply/labor practices and recommends cost reductions.
  • Activelyparticipates and communicates with Medical Staff and clinical staff to monitor,communicate, and make improvements to utilization profiling.
  • Activelyparticipates, communicates and educates all affected departments, physicians,and medical management personnel regarding product and procedure changes.
  • Maintains andcommunicates financial and performance measurements as gauge ofstandardization/utilization success.
  • Collaborate withphysicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization.
  • Measures andcontinuously verifies process improvements and cost savings.
  • Demonstratesknowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to reportpotential patient safety issues.
  • Practice andadhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
  • Perform otherduties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired (Business, Health Administration, Nursing, or Pharmacy)
  • Will consider agraduate of a Professional School of Nursing with related experiences inhealthcare Value Analysis, clinical supply chain, or acute care hospitalperformance improvement
  • Master’s degreehighly preferred 


  • Clinical/healthcare experience, minimum of 2years
  • Acute caresetting preferred
  • Patientcare experience highly preferred
  • Progressive experience demonstrating abilityto accomplish objectives through a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience managing multiple projectssimultaneously, and demonstrated personal time management/projectprioritization skills
  • Demonstrated passion for building aclinically integrated supply chain 

  • LPN/RN, CertifiedMaterials and Resource Professional (CMRP), Certified Value Analysis HealthProfessional (CVAHP), or similar credential preferred 

PHYSICALDEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS Lifting andcarrying up to 25 lbs. On a frequent basis; pushing and pulling of up to 50lbs. on occasion; required eye/hand coordination and manual dexteritysufficient to operate clinical equipment, keyboard, photocopier, telephone,calculator and other office equipment; requires some bending, stooping andstretching; requires normal range of hearing and eye sight to record, prepareand communicate appropriate reports; exposure to toxic, caustic chemicals anddetergent; exposure to dust, fumes and helicopters; repetitive arm/handmovements; acuity both far and near. Staff must remain flexible and availableto provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.

OSHACATEGORY – Thenormal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues(although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone,anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids).
