THE POSITION:

• Seeking a full-time, work from home, COE Pharmacist Supervisor who drives efforts to ensure compliance with JCAHO requirements, Drug Enforcement Administration, State Board of Pharmacy, hospital policies and procedures as well as other Federal and State regulations.


• Oversee all operations and coordinates workflow of the Centralized Order Entry Area


• Serve as pharmacist in charge for state licensure purposes if required


• Assist in interviewing and hiring of COE pharmacists


• Assists in the orientation and training of the COE pharmacists


• Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to by the pharmacy staff


• Assists in preparation of the Key Performance Indicator report


• Prepares the monthly COE DOR


• Prepares schedule for COE pharmacists


• Assist in the tracking and trending of all medication errors, performance metrics, and quality standards

related to the COE


• Provide patient care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy


• Be of service to patients, physicians, nurses and other pharmacists


• Maintain and improve job knowledge, skills and competence


• Perform duties in accordance with specific standards of care as evidenced by completion of competency

skills checklist.


• Articulate daily activities that support continuous quality improvement of patient care


• Prepare written or oral report at change of shift to communicate incomplete assignments and potential

patient safety concerns to monitor in order to ensure continuity of medication therapy if required.


• Demonstrate knowledge and mastery of required job functions, internal communications and operating

systems.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science degree or PharmD from an ACPE (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education) School of Pharmacy.

• Current Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.


• Current Consultant Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.

• Minimum of two or more years supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of pathophysiology, interpretation of diagnostic criteria, pharmacokinetics and pharamacotherapeutics as well as the use and application of new medications and technology.
