Job Summary

The position is responsible for leading, developing andimplementing a Pharmacy Member Support strategic management for amulti-facility integrated delivery network (IDN). This position is responsiblefor reviewing and optimizing the current GPO contract portfolio, implementingproduct standardization plans through clinical and contract alignment, andcollaborating with the HealthTrust contracting team to drive strategic sourcinginitiatives. This position is responsible for building strategic alliances withkey stakeholders as it relates to successful pharmacy service expensemanagement program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providesleadership in the area of expense management and clinical alignment tocontribute to the facility or IDNs overall strategic plan especially as itrelates to the pharmacy services service line.
  • Assess andprovide leadership in the area of expense and clinical standards to guide andsupport organization’s strategy.
  • Assimilatesinformation from variety of sources, able to analyze and interpret financialand clinical data, make strategic recommendations and execute a course ofaction for pharmaceutical savings opportunities and clinical standardization
  • Develops,implements, and coordinates within the hospital or system:
    • A systemapproach to identify pharmaceutical savings opportunities as clinicallyrelevant
    • Policies andprocedures related to expense management in the pharmacy services service line
    • Productstandardization and utilization within the pharmacy services service line
    • Participatesin development of the agenda, follow up on action items assigned through theRegional Value Analysis Teams
    • Coordinationwith the GPO National and Custom Contracting Teams

Job Requirements

Education andExperience

  • A Baccalaureate degree required; Graduate degree or Pharmacydegree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in a healthcare related role withexperience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Clinical experience in an acute care hospital settingpreferred.
  • Previous experience in supply chain, value analysis,purchased services and/or sourcing that includes pharmacy service lineknowledge and experience required.
  • Certification required as appropriate to education and professional experience.
