JOB SUMMARY- This position is responsible for the development, management, integration and support of operational best practices in both our consolidated pharmacy services and facility operations. The position will also assist in providing operations and management support to customers during times of transition or for dedicated project work.  This will include strategies that integrate division and facility level pharmacy services such as drug distribution, order entry and verification, repackaging and future pharmacy services.  The position will serve as a subject matter expert in pharmacy services integration and general pharmacy operations for an independent hospital to an integrated delivery network (IDN) for consolidation opportunities including the development of future consolidation opportunities.  This position is responsible for coordinating the development and execution of customer solutions that utilize HealthTrust, consulting capabilities (HealthTrust Pharmacy Solutions) and data analysis to assist the customer in achieving their objectives.

Leadership
  • Assess and provide leadership in the areas of consolidated pharmacy supply chain operations and facility pharmacy workflow.
  • Assess and provide leadership in the area of acute care pharmacy operations.
  • Assimilates information from variety of sources, able to analyze data and make recommendations and executes a course of action.
  • Provides leadership in implementations of HCA pharmacy consolidation strategy and how it integrates into facility pharmacy operations.
  • Assist in developing and achieves established targets around operational metrics
  • Assists in development and execution within the hospital or system policies and procedures related to pharmacy consolidation services.
  • Assists in onboarding of pharmacy directors, pharmacy managers, and consolidated pharmacy services staff.
 
Pharmacy Consolidation and Implementations
  • Develops, optimizes and implements pharmacy consolidated services plans, in conjunction with field pharmacy operations groups, that ensures an efficient medication management process.  This plan is not limited to but should include the following:
  • Optimizing CSC Pharmacy and remote order entry operational policies and procedures
  • Developing project plans for consolidation implementations
  • Assist in development of best practice recommendations for pharmacy consolidated and facility operations
  • Alignment with CMS, NQSF, FDA, JC, and other national quality agendas around medication packaging, labeling and distribution processes.
  • Analyze global pharmacy trends in conjunction with corporate pharmacy team.
  • Assist in optimization of pharmacy technology solutions
  • Coordinates preparation, implementation and revision of pharmacy staff competencies related to consolidated pharmacy services.
  • Develop and implement optimal strategies around pharmacy services in the areas of packaging, distribution, remote order entry, labor management and facility operations.
  • Develop audit tools and metrics around consolidated pharmacy processes
  • Work with IT on ongoing pharmacy solutions for distribution and other consolidation activities.

  • Forecasts, develops and executes consolidation solutions that will meet future needs of customers.

  • Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders within HealthTrust Supply Chain Solutions, HealthTrust Pharmacy Operations, individual hospitals, hospital systems and IDNs organization’s leadership and staff.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION
B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D, required. MBA or MHA preferred.
 
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 5-10 years experience in a pharmacy operations role in acute care.   Minimum of 5 years of multi-facility, division or corporate experience.   Additional skills/training in operational improvement/LEAN/sixth sigma preferred.
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
Licensed Pharmacist
