Responsiblefor negotiating industry leading agreements for healthcare system in southernCalifornia in the area of construction and facility management.  Objective is to ensure best in class industrypricing and contract terms
Key areaof focus will be sourcing initiatives that are primarily categories with mediumto high spend, complexity, risk and sensitivity 
Individualis a seasoned negotiator with in-depth knowledge and experience in contractnegotiations and understanding of contract terms and conditions 
Individualmust be able to use best practices and knowledge of internal or externalbusiness issues to improve contract portfolio 
Individualexercises judgment in selecting and/or adapting methods for obtaining solutions- taking a new perspective on using existing solutions to solve for complexproblems 
Individualdemonstrates project leadership for back office team members
DUTIES(included but not limited to):

  • Have theability to independently plan and execute project timelines for assignedcategories, with minimal oversight, to:
  • translateobjectives into project planning priorities, create and manage work plans andtimelines for multiple projects, and finalize negotiations in the time-framedesignated for the project
  • be highlyefficient and productive, demonstrating high volume of contracts/categorieshandled without sacrificing quality
  • Demonstrateunderstanding, aptitude and negotiation skills within assigned construction andfacility management categories and how end-users interface with the products.
  • Interpretand use of market information provided by global sourcing team, plus ability tointerpret raw materials that impact products and interpret raw materialindices.
  • End-usergroups and sensitivities they have towards the products
  • Demonstrateability to use knowledge of suppliers to develop strategies, create leverage,mitigate risks, and anticipate direction of the market and potential supplierdirection, including:
  • InterpretSupplier SEC filings, annual reports, or analyst reports
  • Discussfuture product pipelines
  • Reviewcurrent or future technology, including representation of HealthTrust atsupplier and/or provider site visits
  • Investigatenew supplier entrants to market
  • Understandthe multi-business unit supplier and how they will leverage their capabilities
  • Developcontract strategy, formulate a clear vision and articulate steps to achieve thenegotiation objectives
  • Work withteam members to develop a strategy that aligns customer and HealthTrust goalsand objectives 
  • Develop,obtain approval, and implement action items, adjusting when appropriate
  • Developunderstanding and accept accountability of sourcing process, including marketresearch, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development, RFP, Contract Negotiations,and contract launch
  • Whenappropriate, present strategies for validation and final results for approval
  • Supplierand Customer Relationship Management:
  • Initiateand manage relationship during the sourcing process
  • Participatein business and new products/technology reviews as they arise in assignedcategories
  • Developstrong relationships with senior level contacts  
  • Understandstrategic plan, including upcoming projects, and implementation process
  • Participatein customer’s project planning, construction, and bid meetings, as appropriate
  • Developand support implementation programs, including tracking spend on projects
  • Work withand provide feedback to other HealthTrust team members to continuously increasevalue to the customer and HealthTrust
  • Providesubject matter expertise in the development of customer’s construction program
  • RepresentHealthTrust at industry and social events with Suppliers and Customers.
  • Efficientlyand effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and internalstakeholders, including, but not limited to:
  • Facilitateconversations with internal functional team during project kick-off to gatherfeedback, opinions, and alignment of resource needs to meet contractinginitiative timelines
  • Communicatebid process, negotiation status, agreement on terms, financial proposalconcerns and other matters with supplier and internal team
  • Engagecustomers through one-on-one conversations to articulate business strategy andresolve customer specific issues/concerns with contracting strategy or outcome.
  • Interfacewith key executives and end-users in a live environment presenting and/orgaining commitment in order to secure desired outcomes through persuasion andinfluence
  • Collaboratewith functional team throughout sourcing process, including with:
    • Legalstaff on development and finalization of contract
    • Financialanalysts on assessing supplier proposals
    • Boardleads on meeting with advisory boards
    • Contractanalysts on product/price loading of awarded agreements
    • Portfoliospecialists and communications on contract launch/implementation
    • Accountmanagement in their customer-facing duties related to the portfolio
    • Customersand their supply chain/executive leadership
  • Meet/exceedfinancial & operational goals in the annual contracting plan
  • Maintaintimely achievement of all assigned sourcing initiatives ensuring activitiesadhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of businessconduct
  • Resolve anysupplier and/or customer issues, as escalated by Portfolio Specialist
  • Maintainstrong customer relationships and build trust and respect by consistentlymeeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations
  • Work withaudit team to assist and facilitate engagement and finalization of auditprojects
  • Act as achampion for business process change, organizational change, and culturalchange.; including process improvements or training initiatives.

Job Requirements

AccreditedCollege Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance, orsimilar
10 yearsof relevant work experience
