Job Summary

The positionis responsible for the ongoing strategic development, design and successfulimplementation of all Physician Advisor related activities withinHealthTrust.This position works closely with the HealthTrust CMO inbuilding strategic alliances with Physicians, Hospital Executive Staff, MedicalStaff, and Clinical Department Directors as it relates to successful programexecution and understanding the member needs.Strong, collaborative internal relationships with HealthTrust ClinicalAdvisor Board leadership, GPO Sourcing, Pharmacy and other HealthTrustdepartments are critical to facilitate the integration of physician engagementand expertise into multiple areas of GPO and supply chain operations.

In addition,this position is responsible for providing direction and oversight forHealthTrust innovation initiatives, including but not limited to therecruitment, design and implementation of the annual HealthTrust InnovationSummit and member Innovation Grant. Key to maintaining HealthTrust’s positionon the cutting edge of technology and innovation is the design, development andimplementation of a continuous process that identifies new products,technologies and services through the coordination of internal stakeholders(Business Solutions, Clinical Ops, Sourcing, etc.) for collaborative review andcontract consideration.


  • Recruitment and retention of Physician Advisormembers through an established and strong relationship with Physician SteeringCommittee.
  • Development and growth of current and futurespecialty councils
  • Develops,coordinates and successfully executes programs and processes for PhysicianAdvisors to support clinical evidence research, HealthTrust strategic sourcingneeds, review of innovative/new products and technologies and other activitiesincluding writing and publication of abstracts and research initiatives
  • HealthTrust event specific presentations (HTU,live webinars, The Source)
  • Assimilates information from a variety ofsources; able to analyze data and make strategic recommendations and execute acourse of action.
  • Overseedevelopment and maintenance of the Physician Advisor database
  • Trackoutcomes, strategic and financial impact of Physician Advisor Program

Job Requirements

Education andExperience

  • Required:Bachelor’s degree nursing.
  • Preferred:Master’s degree nursing or other advanced clinical degree (MHS, MPH, PA)
  • 7 years’overall healthcare experience
  • Experienceand/or knowledge of group purchasing organization, supply chain, contractingprocesses and/or negotiations.
  • Directexperience in working with influencing specialist physicians across multipledisciplines including but not limited to cardiovascular, orthopedics, and/orspine service lines.
  • Acute carefacility experience and/or experience with multiple facility/IDN clinicalinitiative creation and implementation.
