Job Description

TheSupply Chain Technician is responsible for receiving, keying, and promptlydistributing all supplies within the facility, as well as reviewing andmaintaining all Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock as well as all otherstocking locations. The Supply Chain Technician is also responsible forconducting physical inventories of all POU areas according to the definedschedule. 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities (included butnot limited to):
 

  • Deliver suppliesin an accurate and timely manner
  • Is authorized totransport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media anddrug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position
  • Place safetystock in proper location
  • Receive expediteddeliveries, accurately key receiving into the SMART system, and deliver toappropriate department(s)
  • Receive allcrossdocked items into the SMART system as appropriate
  • Review Min/Maxfor storeroom safety stock daily and place orders appropriately
  • Count par levelareas (POU areas) weekly according to schedule
  • Ensure POU itemshave the appropriate barcodes
  • Perform QA randomchecks on totes per approved policy
  • Rotate stock inPOU areas and backup storeroom areas to ensure no items are out of date
  • Check after-hourlogs for charges and determine how to avoid reoccurrence
  • Reactappropriately to POU “critical point” messages and stock outs
  • Process all“returns to vendor” or “returns to backup stock” appropriately
  • Provideassistance to the POU Station personnel as well as provide assistance withproblems, questions and concerns at the nurses stations
  • Handle allemergency supply situations
  • Rotate “on call”as appropriate
  • Perform otherduties as assigned
  • Practice andadhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”

  • This positionrequires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groupsindicated. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge andskills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social,educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age for thepatients served in his/her assigned service area. The skills and knowledgeneeded to provide such care may be gained through education, training orexperience. Age Groups: Birth - 1 year (infant), 1 - 11 years(pediatric), 12 - 16 years (preschooler), 17 - 64 years (adult), 65 – Life Span(geriatric)
 

EDUCATION

  • High schooldiploma or GED is required
 
EXPERIENCE
  • Previous stockclerk experience is preferred

PHYSICALDEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time;sitting for short periods of time. Requires ability to push and pull a varietyof carts and material handling equipment. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel,bend, stretch and reach frequently. Must be able to make substantial movementsof the wrists, hands, and fingers. Requires eye-hand coordination and manualdexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator,and other office equipment. Requires ability to touch and differentiatetextures and temperatures. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight torecord, prepare, and communicate reports through written and verbal means. Mustbe able to move and/or lift up to 50 lbs. Work may be performed in an office,patient care areas, as well as, a stockroom/supply room environment. Work maybe stressful at times.
