JOB SUMMARY- The Financial Analyst II will work directly to support the sourcing activities and analytic operations of Prime Healthcare Services in Ontario, CA, within the framework of HealthTrust as its contracted GPO. Works both independently and collaboratively to provide various financial and savings/opportunity analysis for Prime Healthcare Services as a participant of HealthTrust’s Group Purchasing Organization. This includes analyzing supplier proposals, preparing detailed data for financial analysis, preparing market share data, gathering relevant supporting data and information, analyzing market and research information, participating in the formulation and development of valuation approaches and models, and assisting in preparation of reporting documents. 
 
Position will include up to 25% travel; may fluctuate based on business needs.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurate and timely savings and opportunity analysis of vendor pricing proposals
  • Data cleansing and analysis of purchase histories obtained through Requests for Information and internal data sources
  • Collaborates and communicates with HealthTrust Account Director to support and achieve savings and compliance with HealthTrust contracted vendors
  • Development of methodologies for performing financial and opportunity analysis of proposals and improving processes
  • Collaboratively develops strategy, communication and analysis of HealthTrust contracts in preparation for review by Prime Health Services Effective communication of results to finance and sourcing team leads
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of detailed pricing files as related to contracting projects
  • Conducts vendor market share analysis and facility contract utilization
  • Ongoing financial assistance as it relates to the management of purchasing agreements
  • Interacts daily with both internal and external individuals
  • Ad Hoc requests from management
 
DUTIES (included but not limited to)- The analyst will:
  • Assist in the documentation of cost savings from the implementation of contracts
  • Research and provide resolution of issues arising from contract coordination
  • Work with suppliers, sourcing personnel and account representative to clarify contract tier access, contract price effective date and conflicts between representatives and local contracts
  • Understand financial operations and work with all levels of assigned areas, including finance, clinical management, and colleagues to ensure the accuracy of the analysis
  • Develop and produce reports as required

Job Requirements

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred areas of study are business, finance, accounting, or economics.
 
EXPERIENCE      
3-5 years of related job experience required. Requires proficiency in multiple technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Office with Advanced MS Excel skills, MicroStrategy and other dashboard/analytical tools. Experience with large data sets preferred. Healthcare purchasing or analytics experience and medical product knowledge preferred.
