JOBSUMMARY – Responsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements forthe group purchasing organization in the area of Logistics.  Objective is to ensure best in class industrypricing and contract terms and conditions. Position'skey area of focus will be sourcing initiatives that are primarily categorieswith low to medium spend, complexity, risk and sensitivity.  Position may have some responsibility forother types of categories for the purposes of development and workloadallocation. It ispreferred that the individual possess knowledge or experience in principles andconcepts related to sourcing and contract management. Individualmay require time to build knowledge of the industry, organization, processes,suppliers and customers.  Individual willfollow standard practices and policies in analyzing situations and data andsolve a range of straightforward problems.
 
DUTIES(included but not limited to):

  • Abilityto plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories, with guidancefrom manager.
  • Understandingof the logistics categories assigned and how end-users interface with the vendors.        
  • Withguidance from manager, Individual must be able to use knowledge about supplierto execute strategies, create leverage, and mitigate risks.  
  • Someassigned categories are handled through a simplified acquisition process (SAP),where the strategy is primarily pre-determined. Other assigned categories are handled through a comprehensiveacquisition process (CAP) that require strategy development.  For these categories, the individual willdevelop the strategy with the guidance of their manager.  Individual will seek guidance of manager forrisk issues and agreed upon risk mitigation strategies.
  • Undergeneral supervision, the individual is responsible for the sourcing process fortheir assigned portfolio.  Includingmarket research, bid preparation, RFI/RFP, contract negotiations, and contractlaunch.
  • CAPcategory strategies and final awards may require presentation to and validationby customer-led Advisory Boards and a customer-led, executive-level SupplyChain Board.
  • Individual'sboard presentations must be well prepared, concise, and articulated clearly.
  • Overseesupplier relationship during the sourcing process.  Participate in supplier business reviews andreview new products/technologies as they arise in assigned categories.
  • Buildstable working relationships with customers with interaction primarily beingthrough member advisory/supply chain board presentations.
  • Collaborationrequired with functional team throughout sourcing process to includecollaboration:
    • Withlegal staff on development and finalization of contract
    • Withfinancial analysts on assessing supplier proposals
    • Withboard leads on meeting with advisory boards
    • Withcontract analysts on product/price loading of awarded agreements
    • Withportfolio specialists and communications on contract launch/implementation
    • Withaccount management in their customer-facing duties related to the portfolio
  • Meet/exceedfinancial & operational goals in the annual contracting plan.
  • Maintaintimely achievement of all assigned sourcing initiatives ensuring activitiesadhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of businessconduct.
  • Resolvesupplier and/or customer issues, as escalated by Portfolio Specialist.
  • Maintainstrong customer relationships and build trust and respect by consistentlymeeting or exceeding customer expectations. Customers are internal and external.
  • Work withHealthTrust audit team to assist and facilitate engagement and finalization ofaudit projects.

Job Requirements

AccreditedCollege Bachelor's Degree preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business,Finance)
1 - 3years of relevant work experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing andnegotiating a variety of contracts in the logistics space.
