Manager, Learning and Development

The Senior Manager, Learning and Development is responsible for design, development, and delivery of formaltraining programs to support and reinforce supply chain operations team leader(supervisor/manager) best practices across all functional teams in the supplychain operation. Working closely with the Supply Chain CEO’s and theirfield-based teams, this role provides strategic direction and management forteam leader development offering quality education and learning opportunitiesto support competency alignment and development to lead high performing teams.


  • Manageframework to define HPT competencies and respective development needs acrossdivision functional teams, and communicates and measures performance outcomesto support operational excellence.
  • Workcollaboratively with leadership, peers and team members to assess existinglearning and development curricula and offerings and compare/contrast withimmediate, short and long-term business needs, strategic goals, and othertargets and metrics.
  • Designs/develops/revisestraining materials and programs that integrate adult learning theory,interactive activities, simulations, job aids and competency-based assessmentsand evaluations (reaction, learning and application/behavior).
  • Facilitatesselect training sessions for High Performing Teams programs, and assignsFacilitator(s) to support training events across multiple locations.
  • Preparesdetailed action plans for training sessions to include audience profiles, agenda,learning objectives and outcomes, as well as respective content and handoutmaterials.
  • Continuallyassesses and analyzes development needs for gaps to provide creative andinnovative solutions and coaching sessions.
  • Evaluateseffectiveness of training sessions and attendee performance improvement usingevaluation/assessment methodologies.
  • Partnerswith corporate and division leadership teams and subject matter experts toimprove on-the-job training content/activities.
  • Usesinsights and learning to best understand immediate, short and long term learningand development needs for assigned leader roles.
  • Reviewsplans with director, other team members, and internal stakeholders to ensurecollective leadership input and alignment.
  • Makesa concerted effort to stay abreast of supply chain operations and organizational/industry changes that may impact employees.
  • Review/assessexisting learning and development offerings versus new, extended or enhancedopportunities.
  • Partnerwith Director to evaluate training impact and results, and share data withleadership teams for feedback and potential enhancements to programs.
  • Coachand mentor Subject Matter Experts on best practices for delivering trainingprocesses and information, and program participants in need of furtherdirection or learning reinforcement.
  • Communicatetraining events, results, and opportunities to supply chain enterprise toengage employees in learning and development.
  • Activelyseek feedback from all levels within assigned facilitation segments to keepcommunications open and timely.
  • Researchand participate in various training & development programs and otherofferings, groups or activities that will enable continued development ofhis/her technical skills and healthcare supply chain related knowledge. 

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain, finance, or business degreepreferred.

  • Minimumof 5 years of professional experience managing high performing teams.
  • Experiencewith design, development and implementation of staff or employee training.
  • Experience in a “matrix reporting” environment preferred.
  • Proven track record for meeting or exceeding business objectives and goals.
  • MS Office, SharePoint, and Learning Management System proficiency

Certified training facilitator or curriculum design certificationpreferred but not required
