Job Description

GENERALSUMMARY OF DUTIES– TheMaterial Handler can be responsible for processing the receipt of all inboundfreight by packing slip and purchase order, as well as processing all outboundshipments from the warehouse. The Material Handler can be responsible forreplenishing product that has been received into its assigned stockinglocation. The Material Handler can be responsible for processing, picking,packing, staging, and shipping of all customer orders. Inventory accuracy isthe job of all warehouse associates.

SUPERVISOR– Warehousing& Logistics Manager or Warehouse Shift Supervisor

SUPERVISES– N/A

DUTIESINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Receiveand check-in all product and equipment by packing slip and purchase order.

  • Processoutbound cross-dock freight as necessary.

  • Documentall receiving via computer or control log.

  • Helpdirect the workflow in the receiving area, setting priorities and meetingdeadlines for the receiving function.

  • Unloadreturned totes and returned product from trucks.

  • Performput away of items to storage locations.

  • Replenishmentof picking locations.

  • Assistpurchasing personnel or accounts payable in researching receivingdiscrepancies.

  • Process,pick, pack, and stage customer orders.

  • Preparegoods and shipping documents for outgoing shipments which may include legenddrugs, non-prescription drugs, contrastmedia and drug-containing devices.

  • Loadpalletized shipments onto outbound vehicles.

  • Shipand log all outbound shipments.

  • Keepreceiving area, warehouse shelves and aisles clean, organized, and free ofhazards and obstructions.

  • Maintaincleanliness and organization of warehouse storage areas.

  • Maintaineffective communication with customers, co-workers, and other team members.

  • Maintainmaterial handling equipment and report any potential problems.

  • Advisewarehouse supervisor of out-of-stock items upon discovery.

  • Ensureall shipments are labeled correctly.

  • Restockreceived product into warehouse assigned stocking locations.

  • Performcycle counting as required.

  • Meetall department mandated timeframes and deadlines.

  • Rotateinventory stock.

  • Performphysical inventory counts during semi-annual inventory.

  • Performother duties as assigned.

  • Followall safety policies and procedures.

  • Practiceand adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and ValueStatement”.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION

  • HighSchool Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE

  • Previouswarehousing experience preferred

  • Priorcomputer experience preferred

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE–Valid State Driver’s License

PHYSICALDEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Requires ability to push and pull a variety of carts and material handlingequipment. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, and reach. Must be able to makesubstantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Must be able to hear,see, and communicate through written and verbal means. Requires ability totouch and differentiate textures and temperatures. Must be able to exert up to100 pounds of force (push/pull) and/or up to 75 pounds of force (push/pull)frequently, and/or 50 pounds of force (push/pull) constantly to move objects.Work is performed inside a warehouse environment that has good ventilation andcomfortable temperatures. Staff must remain flexible and available to providestaffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
