Job Description

The pharmaceutical handler isresponsible for ensuring that all product that enters or leaves the pharmacydoes so in an organized, timely and efficient manner and under proper storageand labeling conditions. They will be the lead on all shipping and receivingactivities. Responsible for supervising daily operations to ensure thatdeadlines are adhered to and all product is shipped in accordance withwarehouse schedule and pharmacy policies and procedures. Receiving leadfunctions include making sure that all product is received appropriately andput away in a timely fashion.
 
 
Essential Duties &Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
  • Ensure properpackaging, labeling and staging of facility orders
  • Coordinate andrun daily WMS operations
  • Supervise dailyoperations’ schedule to make sure all items are ready and staged in thewarehouse on time.
  • Process, pick,pack, and stage all customer orders when needed
  • Check in weeklyorder and supervise the put away process
  • Responsible forthe let down process to ensure that sufficient quantities of product are in thepick location.
  • Maintaincleanliness and organization of pharmacy storage areas
  • Advise inventoryanalyst of out-of-stock or short dated items upon discovery and rotate stock asnecessary
  • Ensure allshipments are labeled correctly
  • Maintaindistribution pull list files
  • Conduct routinecycle counts upon request
  • Maintaineffective communication with customers, co-workers, and other team members
  • Maintain allmaterial handling equipment and report any potential problems
  • Perform physicalinventory counts during semi-annual inventory
  • Meet alldepartment mandated timeframes and deadlines
  • Perform otherduties as assigned
  • Practice andadhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” 

Job Requirements

  • Basic skills– able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcilefigures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately
  • Skill inoperating a fork lift vehicle.
  • Technicalskills – able to operate a fork lift vehicle and a motorized pallet jack.
 
EDUCATION
  • HighSchool Diploma or GED preferred
  • Techniciancertification preferred within 2 years of hire
 
EXPERIENCE
  • Oneyear previous Distribution Clerk experience
  • Computerexperience preferred
  • SMARTand WMS experience preferred
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
  • ValidState Driver’s License
 
PHYSICALDEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Requires ability to push and pull a variety of carts and material handlingequipment. Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, and reach. Must be able to makesubstantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Must be able to hear,see, and communicate through written and verbal means. Requires ability totouch and differentiate textures and temperatures. Must be able to move and/orlift up to 50 pounds. Work is performed inside a warehouse environment that hasgood ventilation and comfortable temperatures. Staff must remain flexible andavailable to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergencysituations.
 
OSHACATEGORY – Thenormal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues(although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone,anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Persons whoperform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to performor assist in emergency care or first aid, or to be potentially exposed in someother way.
