Job Description

Job Summary – The pharmaceutical handler is responsible for ensuring that all product that enters or leaves the pharmacy does so in an organized, timely and efficient manner and under proper storage and labeling conditions. They will be the lead on all shipping and receiving activities. Responsible for supervising daily operations to ensure that deadlines are adhered to and all product is shipped in accordance with warehouse schedule and pharmacy policies and procedures. Receiving lead functions include making sure that all product is received appropriately and put away in a timely fashion. 

Duties (included but not limited to):
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling and staging of facility orders 
• Coordinate and run daily WMS operations 
• Supervise daily operations’ schedule to make sure all items are ready and staged in the warehouse on time. 
• Process, pick, pack, and stage all customer orders when needed 
• Check in weekly order and supervise the put away process 
• Responsible for the let down process to ensure that sufficient quantities of product are in the pick 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy storage areas 
• Advise inventory analyst of out‐of‐stock or short dated items upon discovery and rotate stock as 
• Ensure all shipments are labeled correctly 
• Maintain distribution pull list files 
• Conduct routine cycle counts upon request 
• Maintain effective communication with customers, co‐workers, and other team members 
• Maintain all material handling equipment and report any potential problems 
• Perform physical inventory counts during semi‐annual inventory 
• Meet all department mandated timeframes and deadlines 
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Required Experience / Skills/ Education

• High School Diploma or GED required  
• One year previous Distribution Clerk experience 
• Computer experience
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds 
• Ability to stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Basic skills – able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately  
• Communication – communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing 
• Customer orientation – establishes and maintains long‐term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations 

Preferred Skills / Certification

• SMART and WMS experience preferred 
• Technician certification  within 2 years of hire is preferred.
