Job Summary
The CSC Pharmacy Technician will beresponsible for assisting in the performance of daily CSC pharmacy tasksincluding but not limited to: repackaging, drug receiving and put away, orderpicking and staging, stock replenishment and shipping. This shall be carriedout in accordance with all state and federal laws, national regulatoryagencies, and the facility departmental policies and procedures.
Duties (included but not limited to)
  • Receive and check in allmedication and supplies by packing slip/purchase order/or invoice
  • Perform put away andreplenishment of items to storage and pickinglocations
  • Assist purchasing personnelor accounts payable in researching receivingdiscrepancies
  • Accurately process, pick,pack and stage customer orders
  • Prepare goods andshipping documents for outgoing shipments which may include legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug-containing devices
  • Perform checking ofpicked product for accuracy and document on quality logs
  • Assist in handling andlogging of returned products from facilities
  • Complete and documentmonthly inspections for expired medications
  • Daily documentation ofall refrigerator temperatures and communication of variances
  • Process all orders to be sent to customersfollowing the set standards and guidelines of the organization
  • Organize and maintain a clean work area,and keep all areas free of hazardsand obstructions
  • Rotate inventoryupon the put away processto ensure the earliest datinggets dispensed first
  • Perform inventory cyclecounts as required
  • Assist with the physicalinventory counts as required
  • Notify the PharmacyManager and Inventory Analyst of excessive runs on products and supplies
  • Package and barcodemedications in accordance to appropriate policies and procedures if applicable
  • Maintain records of allprepackaged medications in accordance to all local and federal regulatory agencies
  • Maintain all packagingequipment in accordance to the policies and procedures if applicable
  • Restock packagingsupplies to the appropriate locations
  • Knowledgeable of batchpreparation and log completion



Job Requirements

Required Job Qualifications include:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • National certification as a Pharmacy Tech (CPhT)
  • State certification as a Pharmacy Tech
  • Previous pharmacy tech experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
