JOB SUMMARY- The Senior Financial Analyst will work directly related to support the Supply Chain business and analytic operations of Community Health Systems in Franklin, TN, within the framework of HealthTrust as its contracted GPO. Gathering relevant supporting data and information, analyzing market and research information, participating in the formulation and development of valuation approaches and models, and assisting in preparation of reporting documents. 
  • Spend analytics processing using CHS’s spend analytics system and/or materials management system
  • Contract product category data identification using CHS’s spend analytics system and/or materials management system
  • Conducts vendor market share analysis and facility contract utilization
  • Contacts vendors to cross-reference non contract items for conversion opportunities
  • Collaboratively develops strategy, communication and analysis of contracts in preparation for review by Clinical Resource Management and Supply Chain Leadership at CHS
  • Completes reporting analytics for facility contract compliance and utilization
  • Ongoing financial assistance as it relates to the management of purchasing agreements
DUTIES (included but not limited to)
  • Complete accurate and timely savings and opportunity analysis of vendor pricing proposals
  • Assist in the documentation of cost savings from the implementation of contracts
  • Develop methodologies for performing financial and opportunity analysis of proposals and improving processes
  • Research and provide resolution of issues arising from contract coordination
  • Work with vendors, local system staff and account representative to clarify contract tier access, contract price effective date and conflicts between representatives and local contracts
  • Contact vendors, obtain pricing/quotes, and utilize pricing analysis programs and reports back to designated supply chain leadership. 
  • Understand financial operations and work with all levels of assigned areas, including finance, clinical management, and colleagues to ensure the accuracy of the analysis
  • Develop and produce ad hoc analysis as required

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.   Preferred areas of study are business, finance, accounting, or economics.
5 years of related job experience required. Medical product knowledge and experience in healthcare purchasing or analytics  preferred, including working with large data sets. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, MicroStrategy, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
