JOB SUMMARY – The primary focus of this role will be to assist the AVP of Supply Chain Consulting on client-based purchased services engagements and also be available when called upon for general supply chain consulting. The consultant will be involved in the development of contracting strategies for a variety of services provided within hospital settings. The role of the Consultant IV is able to lead multiple engagements and demonstrate the value of the Supply Chain solutions through improved productivity and decreased supply chain costs. This position interfaces directly with hospital providers to improve their supply chain processes, increase cost savings, and create repeatable processes. 
Up to 50% travel required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – This role primarily serves as a consulting role to assess, design, and deliver operational improvement services.
DUTIES (included but not limited to) – 
With respect to Purchased Services:
  • Meet and build relationships with senior level executives (CEO, CFO, CIO, etc.) by presenting and discussing industry trends, best in class strategies, and gaining buy-in for consulting services
  • Lead client discussions and meetings to present analysis and facilitate client decision making in order to select improvement tactics
  • Complete high level assessment of all client spend to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Maintain database of vendor spend categorization
  • Maintain benchmarking service rates database
  • Prepare and presents final client assessments to AVP of Consulting
  • Attend client project update calls
  • Assist with scheduling/coordination of client calls and meetings
  • Maintain client implementation plan
  • Generate detailed reports to show client savings comparing historical data to new invoice details
  • Research and analyze vendors to be included in requests for proposals (RFPs)
With respect to general Supply Chain consulting:
  • Take active role in consulting engagements to assess operations and create deliverables (presentations, reports, analysis) in part or in whole
  • Retrieve, review, process, and analyze demographic, clinical, and financial data provided by clients for consulting engagements
  • Prepare statistical and financial reports as required
  • Engage subject matter experts for best demonstrated practices and apply them to client projects
  • Attend client project update calls
  • Assist with preparation of client proposals and engagement statements of work
  • Work closely with consulting team on new service implementations (client portal, vendor database, etc.)

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience with healthcare procurement or healthcare industry analysis. Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience. Requires an understanding of healthcare operations and knowledge of industry leading practices and key metrics. Comprehension of basic financial accounting activities. Strong analytical ability to identify processes and determine how to create process improvement opportunities. Knowledge of common industry information systems and applications. Experience with a Materials Management Information System (ie PMM, Meditech, Lawson).
