Job Summary

The Senior Strategic SourcingAnalyst will be responsible for assessing and implementing existing material handling contracts for member companies within the group purchasing organization membership and for driving targeted growth through the member engagements. Objective is to implement contracted vendors into national programs for membership companies while maximizing value for the member. Individual must be proficient in excel in analyzing spend information, commodity indices, be personable and competent in customer facing engagements, and possess critical thinking skills in negotiating with vendors. Prior experience or knowledge in material handling and commodity categories is a plus. Individual will follow standard practices and policies in analyzing situations and data, and will solve a range of straightforward problems.

Duties (included but not limited to) –

  • Understanding of or aptitude to learn material handling and how end-users interface with the products, including.
  • Individual must be able to develop and use knowledge about supplier to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate direction of the market.
  • The individual will develop customer engagement strategies with the guidance of their manager. Individual will seek guidance of manager for risk mitigation issues.
  • Manage supplier relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Manage effective customer relationship during opportunity engagement and implementation.
  • Participate in supplier business reviews and review new products/technologies as they arise.
  • Build strong relationships with senior level supplier contacts.
  • Engaging customers through one-on-one conversations to articulate business strategy and market conditions, and resolve customer specific issues/concerns with material handling category and contracted suppliers.
  • Collaboration required with functional team throughout opportunity engagement process.
  • Meet/exceed annual financial & operational category goals
  • Maintain timely achievement of all opportunity engagements ensuring activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct. Resolve supplier and/or customer issues involved with opportunity engagement. Maintain strong customer relationships and build trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Customers are internal and external.

Job Requirements

Education andExperience

  • Accredited College Bachelor's Degree required

  • 3 years of relevant work experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in commodity strategic sourcing, negotiating, project management, or experience in material handling field.
