GENERAL SUMMARY OFDUTIES – The Director of SupplyChain Operations is responsible for the daily operations of all functions andserves as the liaison between the Service Center and the facility. The Directorof Supply Chain Operations integrates the department’s services with thehospital’s primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures thatguide or support service, assesses and improves department performance, andensures orientation and continuing education of departmental staff.
As the leader, thisperson may recommend resources/space needed by the department and mayparticipate in the selection of outside services. They serve as a key promoterof the Service Center, which strives to meet and exceed the needs of itscustomers.

SUPERVISES – All Onsite Supply Chain Operations personnel
 
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARENOT LIMITED TO:
•        Lead and manage all facility Supply Chainactivities
•        Manage the profit and loss of the facilitySupply Chain operations
•        Execute the infrastructure project plan for thefacility. This includes the implementation of the standardization programs forall supply chain functions, SMART cleanup, master file standardization, onlinerequisitioning, and EDI
•        Facilitate the implementation of market basedpurchasing projects at the facility
•        Execute the implementation and operational planfor all of the point of use systems
•        Coordinate, manage, and evaluate facility SupplyChain personnel
•        Create a supportive environment for supply chainstaff development and the delivery of supply chain solutions
•        Raise and resolve facility based supply chainissues and improvement opportunities
•        Coordinate and drive efforts to enable supplyimprovement initiatives (SII) to succeed within the facility
•        Facilitate the standardization of products andoptimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with Physicians andclinicians
•        Manage the facility implementation plan,identify and mitigate risks (leverage lessons learned, utilize proactivecommunication techniques), and monitor resource allocations to ensuresuccessful execution of plan
•        Execute the Supply Chain Performance Measurementplan at the facility and report these results to the
•        Supply Chain Officer in an accurate and timelymanner
•        Execute a continuous improvement program forsupply chain functions
•        Ensure useful knowledge is captured and promotesharing of information
•        Recommends sufficient number ofqualified/competent staff.
•        Determines staff qualifications and competence.Develops and maintains accurate initial and annual competency checklists, and initiatescompletion of initial and annual competency attestation forms.
•        Actively seeks ways to control costs withoutcompromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered.
•        Attends in-service presentations, and complete mandatoryeducation week including, but not limited to, infection control, patientsafety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA Standards.
•        Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reportingsystem and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues.
•        Is authorized to transport and deliver legenddrugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug containing devicesrelative to core competencies of the position.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Healthcare Administration, orFinance required.
 
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of three yearshospital management experience required
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Requires prolonged sitting, some bending,stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexteritysufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and otheroffice equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record,prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxesup to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Workmay be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance forany/all disaster or emergency situations. Some travel may be required.
